Winstones Aggregates has been around a long time and an essential element of our business strategy is that we remain in business for the long-term. To do this - we will continue to adapt to changing markets, embrace new technology and remain focused on the future. Sustainability has a key role in what we do and how we do it.
To be a sustainable business means that we operate in a way that is protective of people, our community, the environment and the economy. Reducing carbon dioxide emissions and investing in projects that add value to our communities is a great way to do this.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable data and other relevant information about the environmental impact of a product using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Obtaining our first EPD prove that Winstone Aggregates demonstrates our continued commitment to our environmental responsibility.
Climate change is a global challenge. We are committed to achieving a 30% reduction in our Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) carbon emissions by 2030. This target is to keep the global temperature rise well below two degrees Celsius. Our 30% reduction target is verified by the Science Based Targets initiative, a recognised international third-party verification body, and in line with the goals set in the Paris agreement.
Winstone Aggregates is committed to the concept of Kaitiakitanga, or being excellent custodians of the planet for now and for generations to come by having a positive impact and leaving a measurable net environmental gain.
